"Pyramid Point at Sunset" — Sleeping Bear Sand Dunes are one of the most iconic landmarks in Northern Michigan and Pyramid Point can be found at its northernmost tip. I use watercolor, pastel, and gouache in this painting to capture the dune's sandy descent to Lake Michigan in the vibrant colors of a sunset. I like to think that the pops of pastel along the pathway evoke a sense of all the feet that have climbed up to take in this expansive view.
